Palamaneru Vidhan Sabha constituency, Legislative Assembly constituency in Chittoor district, India
Palamaneru is a legislative constituency in Andhra Pradesh that spans five administrative divisions: Gangavaram, Palamaner, Baireddipalle, V. Kota, and Peddapanjani. The region is predominantly rural, with agriculture forming the backbone of the local economy.
The constituency was established in 1951, with Ramabrahaman from the Indian National Congress becoming its first elected representative in 1952. Since then, it has participated regularly in state legislative elections.
The area is home to farming communities who maintain deep ties to their land and local customs. People here take an active role in decisions that shape their villages and surroundings.
Eligible voters cast their ballots at polling stations distributed across all five administrative areas. Voter registration can be completed at local election offices located throughout the region.
The 2014 election was exceptionally close, with the winner securing victory by just a few thousand votes. This narrow margin showed how evenly divided opinion was in the region that year.
