Kollur mandal, Administrative mandal in Bapatla district, India
Kollur mandal is an administrative region in Bapatla district that spans multiple villages along the Krishna River, combining agricultural land with residential areas. The region contains 12 revenue villages and operates through 24 gram panchayats, with its main administrative office based in Kollur village.
This administrative region was created in 2022 when it was transferred from Guntur district to Bapatla district as part of a reorganization. The change came about as part of a larger administrative reform that divided Bapatla district into 25 new mandals.
The villages here follow traditional rice farming practices, with farmers working seasonally across their fields along the river. These agricultural customs remain central to how the community operates and organizes daily routines.
The region is most accessible during the dry season when roads between villages are easiest to travel. The best times to explore are early morning or late afternoon when it is cooler and local activities are most visible.
The soil near the Krishna River is ideal for brick production, making this an important local industry that manufactures millions of units annually. This industry supplies building materials not only to the local area but to construction projects across the state.
