Mylavaram mandal, Administrative region in NTR district, India
Mylavaram mandal is an administrative region in NTR district composed of 17 villages spread across the plains of southern Andhra Pradesh. The area is centered on Mylavaram town, where the main administrative offices serve the surrounding communities.
The region was part of Krishna district until an administrative reorganization in 2022 created the new NTR district. With this change, Mylavaram mandal came under the Vijayawada revenue division.
Telugu is the language spoken by people in daily life and connects the different villages across the region. You hear it everywhere in markets, shops, and on the streets of Mylavaram.
Mylavaram town is the administrative hub and the best place to access official services or get information about the region. Most villages are reachable by local roads, with the dry season being the best time to visit when agricultural work is less intense.
The area is known for growing Banginapalli and Totapuri mangoes in local orchards that are exported worldwide. These fruits develop their distinctive flavor from the region's climate and soil conditions.
