Al-Karak

Al-Karak is a city built on a triangular plateau in central Jordan, with a fortress positioned at its southern point overlooking the surrounding landscape. The settlement spreads across different elevation levels, featuring buildings from various periods and offering views toward the Dead Sea valley below.

The fortress was built during the Crusader period and became a key stronghold in regional conflicts. After changing hands, the settlement continued to grow as a major center in the region over the following centuries.
