Moji Station, Railway station in Moji-ku, Kitakyushu, Japan
Moji Station is a railway station in Moji-ku, Kitakyushu, featuring three island platforms that serve six tracks in total. The three-story building, completed in 2004, houses ticket counters and information desks for passengers.
The site opened in 1891 under the name Osato Station before being relocated and renamed in 1942 following the completion of the Kanmon Railway Tunnel. This move reflected growing transportation needs across the strait.
The station serves as a meeting point between two important railway lines, connecting people traveling between different regions across the water. Daily commuters and long-distance travelers pass through here as part of their journeys.
The station has staffed ticket counters and information desks where visitors can purchase tickets and get route information. The clear layout and modern facilities make it straightforward to navigate and find connections.
The station marks a special point in the railway network as it serves both as the northern terminus of the Kagoshima Main Line and the western endpoint of a 534-kilometer rail connection from Kobe. This dual function makes it a critical junction point for regional rail travel.
