Palm Islands Nature Reserve, Nature reserve on three islands off El Mina, Lebanon

The Palm Islands Nature Reserve encompasses three limestone islands and surrounding waters, located 5.5 kilometers from the Lebanese coast near Tripoli.

The islands contain remains of a Crusader church, old salt evaporation ponds, and numerous archaeological artifacts dating back to late Roman periods.

Local fishermen maintain traditional maritime practices by operating transportation services between mainland ports and the protected islands.

Access to Palm Islands Nature Reserve remains restricted to July through September, with transportation available from El Mina ports via local boats.

The reserve functions as a critical Mediterranean habitat for endangered green turtles, monk seals, and multiple species of migratory birds.
