Efteling Museum, Theme park history museum in Loon op Zand, Netherlands.
The Efteling Museum is a building displaying the history of a recreation park through a renovated structure at Anton Pieckplein. It houses original sketches, park artifacts, and historical objects that document the development of the area.
The museum opened in 2003 inside a former Design and Development Workshop and displays preserved ornaments from the park's founding in 1952. These spaces safeguarded important objects that document the park's earliest years.
The museum displays Dutch artistic craftsmanship through original drawings by Anton Pieck and shows how traditional fairy tales were turned into physical attractions. Visitors can see how one artist's vision shaped an entire recreation area.
Entry to the museum is included with the recreation park ticket, and the building is wheelchair accessible throughout. Service animals are permitted in all exhibition areas.
Below the Haunted Castle lie catacombs with a special collection often overlooked that holds historical pieces such as early park figures. These hidden areas reveal the craftsmanship details that went into the larger attractions.
