Lyallpur Museum

Lyallpur Museum is a regional history museum in Faisalabad with ten galleries displaying thousands of objects from Punjab's past. The spaces contain textiles, archaeological finds, and items that document how the area developed over time.

The museum opened in 2011 and takes its name from the city's former name, Lyallpur, which was used until 1977. The collections preserve memories from the period when the city was known by that older name.

The collection displays clothing, tools, and objects made by hand that tell stories of how people lived and worked in Punjab over time. You can see items that reflect skills and traditions passed down through families in the region.

The building sits on a main road near the District Courts and is accessible by car or public transportation. Plan for several hours to walk through the galleries and wear comfortable shoes for exploring the different spaces.

The museum includes focused galleries on sandal production and archaeology that trace how the area shifted from farming to manufacturing over time. These specialized sections tell the story of the region's transformation through objects people actually used.
