Mount Arafat, Sacred summit in Mecca, Saudi Arabia

The granodiorite hill rises 70 meters high and reaches an elevation of 454 meters above sea level, featuring a marked trail to its peak.

The summit gained prominence as the location where Prophet Muhammad delivered his final sermon during his last pilgrimage before his death.

Muslims gather at this mountain during the Day of Arafah, the ninth day of Dhu al-Hijjah, marking a fundamental part of the Hajj pilgrimage.

The mountain includes constructed stairs leading to the summit, with the Mecca Metro providing transportation services for visitors during pilgrimage season.

Scientific analysis reveals the mountain consists of granodiorite rock containing feldspar, quartz, and muscovite, dating back 9.13 million years.
