Tunghai University

Tunghai University is a private institution in the Xitun District of Taichung with nine academic colleges. The campus spreads across a wide area with paths connecting buildings and green spaces.

Christian education organizations founded the university in 1955 with an initial group of 200 students in arts and science programs. The institution grew over the decades into a broad academic center with research facilities.

The dairy farm on campus produces fresh milk products and offers visitors a look at hands-on agricultural work. Students use the space for research and learn directly with animals and production processes.

Visitors can walk through the public areas of the campus and see both modern facilities and natural landscapes. Signage helps with orientation between buildings and the different colleges.

The Luce Memorial Chapel was designed by I.M. Pei and received national monument status in 2019. Its unusual roof structure draws architecture enthusiasts from across the region.
