Desna Raion

Desna Raion is an administrative district in northeastern Kyiv located on the Left Bank of the Dnieper River. The area spans roughly 14 square kilometers and contains two primary residential zones: Troieshchyna and Lisovyi.

This administrative district received official recognition on December 30, 1987, when municipal territories in Ukraine were reorganized. The establishment was part of a broader restructuring of Kyiv's city divisions during that period.

The Holy Trinity Cathedral in Troieshchyna serves as a gathering place where residents come together for worship and community events. The building shapes how people experience the neighborhood and marks a spiritual center for local life.

The two residential zones are connected to central Kyiv via the Pivnichnyi Bridge, making it easy to move between different parts of the district. Visitors can explore the area conveniently using public transportation that serves both zones.

The Pivnichnyi Bridge, constructed in 1976, connects the two otherwise separate residential areas and unified them into a single functioning district. This bridge is more than just a transport link—it fundamentally shaped how the district is organized.
