Triệu Phong

Triệu Phong is a rural district in Quảng Trị Province with varied landscapes across its terrain. The area contains flat coastal plains and sand dunes on the eastern side, rolling hills toward the west, and a coastline along the eastern edge.

The district became part of Dai Viet in 1306 when King Champa presented it as a wedding gift to Princess Huyen Tran. This transfer marked the beginning of its integration into the broader Vietnamese realm.

The name reflects its historical role as a trading hub in the region. Today, locals rely primarily on farming and fishing, shaping how people use the land and interact with each other.

The area is well connected through National Route 1A and the North-South railway, linking it easily with other parts of Vietnam. These transport routes allow straightforward access and movement through the district.

The district has an 18-kilometer coastline that makes it an important area for local fishing communities. This resource shapes traditional economic activities and how people in the region make their living.
