Dolpa District, Administrative district in Karnali Province, Nepal
The Dolpa District spans 7,889 square kilometers between elevations of 1,525 and 7,625 meters, containing deep valleys and mountain ranges in northern Nepal.
Established in 1962, the district served as a vital trade corridor between Nepal and Tibet, leading to the development of settlements along ancient routes.
The district population includes Sherpa, Magar, and other ethnic communities who maintain religious practices centered around Buddhist monasteries like Shey Gompa.
