The site contains painted pottery bowls, stone tools, jade ornaments, and bone implements that demonstrate the development of early Chinese craftsmanship.

Researchers continue to study the extensive collection of artifacts to understand the progression of agricultural practices and social structures in prehistoric China.

The findings at Miaodigou document the transformation from nomadic groups to established farming communities during the Neolithic period in central China.
