Hub Dam, Earth-fill dam near Karachi, Pakistan.
The Hub Dam extends across 24,300 acres at the border of Sindh and Balochistan provinces, storing 857,000 acre-feet of water for regional supply.
The construction of this water infrastructure project started in September 1963 and reached completion in July 1981, with an investment of 1,191 million rupees.
The reservoir area received wildlife sanctuary status in 1974, supporting over 200 bird species and multiple native plant varieties across its protected zones.
Visitors can access the dam through National Highway 25 from Karachi, with opportunities for hiking, bird watching, and fishing throughout the year.
The water level experienced a notable increase of 70 feet during the winter rains of 2019, rising from 276 feet to 348 feet by March.
