Tanjong Pagar Park, Urban park at Tanjong Pagar, Singapore
Tanjong Pagar Park is a 1-hectare green space beside Guoco Tower with landscaped gardens, walking paths, and seating areas. The site is divided into distinct zones, including the Tree Plaza with water features and the City Room designed to host larger gatherings.
The space was established in 2005 before undergoing major redevelopment in 2013 to better serve the neighborhood. This transformation created the modern green space that exists in the district today.
The park serves as a gathering space where neighbors meet for markets, performances, and casual outdoor activities. People use the grounds to pause from their work day in the surrounding office district.
The park is accessible on foot from Tanjong Pagar or Outram Park MRT stations, both within walking distance. Parking is available at nearby Tanjong Pagar Plaza for those driving.
The Tree Plaza preserves existing trees while adding water features beneath a glass canopy, creating a sheltered meeting spot in the urban landscape. This approach shows how green spaces can integrate nature into dense city blocks.
