Asia Square, Twin-tower mixed-use development at Marina Bay, Singapore
Asia Square is a large building complex with two towers in Singapore's downtown financial district. The complex comprises 43 and 46 stories of grade A office space, the five-star Westin hotel with 305 rooms, retail shops, multiple restaurants, and a major fitness facility, all connected by the covered public plaza The Cube featuring skylights and landscaped planting areas.
Construction began in 2009 with the first tower opening in 2011 and completion in 2013, designed by architects Denton Corker Marshall. The project marks a turning point in Singapore's development as a global financial hub with an emphasis on environmentally responsible building practices.
The name reflects Singapore's position as a gateway to Asia. The central plaza called The Cube serves as a gathering place where workers and visitors meet, rest, or hold informal conversations, showing how this modern space shapes daily interactions.
The complex sits directly beside Shenton Way MRT station and is easily reached on foot from Downtown station. Visitors can explore ground-level shops and restaurants or take elevators up the office towers, with most public areas accessible from surrounding buildings via pedestrian bridges.
The Westin is Singapore's first hotel built within an office tower, featuring a striking infinity pool that appears to flow over the edge. The Work Project shared office space contains living plant walls designed by a renowned French botanist, making it an unusually inspiring place to work.
