The Audain Art Museum extends across 56,000 square feet with a dark metal exterior structure elevated above ground level in the Fitzsimmons Creek floodplain.
The museum, which opened on March 12, 2016, displays Michael Audain's collection that chronicles British Columbia's art from the late 18th century to present day.
The permanent collection contains 200 artworks, including Northwest Coast First Nations masks and an extensive selection of Emily Carr paintings depicting regional landscapes.
The museum operates Wednesday through Monday from 10:00 to 17:00, with adult admission at 22 dollars and free entry for visitors under 18 years old.
The building features a glass walkway offering views of the surrounding meadow, leading visitors through galleries dedicated to permanent and temporary exhibitions.
