Shenzhen City Children's Palace

Shenzhen City Children's Palace is an educational center near Futian with dedicated spaces for instruction and activities spread throughout the complex. The centerpiece is a digital planetarium with an angled dome that holds more than 150 visitors and presents shows about space and astronomy.

This facility follows a Soviet model of youth palaces that emerged in the 1930s and later spread throughout China. Shenzhen established its own center as part of a broader effort to provide structured activities for young people in the growing city.

Local children gather here to study music, languages, and crafts while working alongside peers in clubs and workshops throughout the facility. The spaces reflect this focus on shared learning, with areas dedicated to performances and group activities.

The complex is located on Fuzhong 1st Road with free entry for all visitors, and a complete tour takes about three hours. Plan ahead to explore the different areas and catch one or two planetarium shows at your own pace.

The planetarium uses advanced projection systems to present immersive shows such as Secrets of Gravity, teaching physics concepts in a hands-on way. This technology makes complex astronomical ideas more accessible and engaging for young visitors.
