Lianhuashan Park, Mountain park in Futian District, Shenzhen, China
Lianhuashan Park is a mountain park in Futian spanning 181 hectares with lakes, forests, and landscaped areas distributed across varying elevations. The site contains a large lotus lake, expansive green spaces, and multiple trails that weave through different natural and designed sections.
The park was established in 1997 following a major construction boom in the Futian district and replaced informal settlements with green space. This transformation from residential area to public park reflected the broader changes happening in Shenzhen during its rapid urban expansion.
The name refers to the seven peaks arranged like a lotus flower, a shape with deep symbolism in Chinese tradition. Visitors walking through different elevations experience how the landscape itself carries cultural meaning throughout their journey.
The park has wide trails of varying difficulty, allowing visitors to choose their own pace and experience level. Flat sections around the lake are easy to walk, while the higher peaks require more physical effort and offer better views.
A bronze statue at the hilltop represents an important figure in the city's economic development, serving as a striking landmark when reaching the summit. A historically significant tree planted near this statue adds another layer to the cultural memory visitors encounter at the peak.
