Linh Phuoc Pagoda, Buddhist temple complex in Trai Mat district, Da Lat, Vietnam.
Linh Phuoc Pagoda is a temple in Đà Lạt decorated with intricate mosaics made from broken glass, pottery, and porcelain pieces that cover walls, ceilings, and decorative elements throughout the complex. The site comprises multiple buildings and courtyards connected by pathways lined with these shimmering, colorful surfaces.
The pagoda was built between 1949 and 1952 with its distinctive mosaic decoration completed during construction. It underwent major restoration work in 1990 under the direction of Venerable Thich Tam Vi, who renewed and reinforced the entire structure.
The pagoda displays Buddhist stories and teachings through its mosaics, which visitors encounter while walking through the complex. These artworks made from recycled materials carry spiritual meaning that resonates with Buddhist communities in the region.
The temple is located about 8 km from Đà Lạt center and can be reached by local bus, motorbike rental, or train to nearby Trai Mat village. Visiting during daylight hours is best to fully appreciate the colorful mosaics that decorate the site.
The site features a 49-meter dragon structure built from approximately 12,000 beer bottles, making it an unusual and memorable work of recycled art. The complex also houses Vietnam's heaviest temple bell, which stands as a striking symbol of the craftsmanship evident throughout the location.
