Linh Son Pagoda

Linh Son Pagoda is a Buddhist temple perched on a hillside in Da Lat, featuring a distinctive three-story octagonal structure. Pine trees surround the grounds, where monks cultivate tea and coffee plants alongside the main prayer halls.

Construction began in 1938 through public donations and two primary benefactors, being completed two years later. The temple received special recognition in 1952 when Vietnam's Buddhist Patriarch consecrated the large bronze Buddha statue installed within.

The temple takes its name from Linh Son, meaning sacred mountain, reflecting its hillside setting and spiritual purpose. Visitors can observe the daily rhythm of monastic life as monks move between prayer halls and the surrounding gardens.

The temple sits on a hillside surrounded by pine forest, so visitors should prepare for uneven terrain and steep pathways. Those arriving should wear respectful clothing and sturdy footwear, as this remains an active place of worship and daily monastic practice.

The main prayer hall contains a massive bronze Buddha statue weighing around 1250 kilograms, making it impossible to move. This extreme weight has naturally protected the sculpture since its installation in the 1950s without requiring any additional security measures.
