Tháp Po Dam

Tháp Po Dam is a temple complex in Bình Thuận featuring six brick structures arranged in three clusters with a central tower as the focal point. The site sits at the base of Ông Xiêm mountain and includes additional buildings positioned around the main sanctuary.

The complex was built in the 8th century under King Harivarman I and represents the architectural accomplishments of the Champa civilization. This era marked the flourishing of religious and artistic achievements in the southern Vietnamese kingdom.

The temple serves as an active religious center where the Cham community gathers for annual Hindu festivals and ceremonies honoring Shiva. Visitors can witness the living traditions and spiritual practices that remain central to the community's identity.

The site lies southwest of the Cam Ranh area and is accessible via the coastal highway with local transportation available. Arriving early helps you explore the architecture at your own pace without crowds.

Unlike other Cham temples typically built on hilltops, this complex stands at ground level at the base of a mountain. This unusual placement creates an intimate relationship between the sacred site and the surrounding natural landscape.
