Crystal Bay Beach

Crystal Bay Beach is a crescent-shaped coastal area on Nusa Penida with golden sand framed by limestone cliffs and palm trees. Clear waters fill the bay, creating an inviting swimming spot bounded by rocky headlands.

This location transformed from an isolated fishing community into a primary tourist destination following infrastructure development in western Nusa Penida. The changes brought economic shifts and increased visitor access to the area.

A small temple sits on an island within the bay where local Hindu ceremonies connect spiritual practice to the marine landscape.

Getting there requires a fast boat from Sanur to Toyapakeh harbor followed by a drive over well-maintained roads to the beach. The entire journey takes roughly an hour and a half, so plan accordingly.

Between July and October, ocean sunfish migrate to shallower waters in the bay, drawing snorkelers and divers to witness these gentle giants. Their arrival from deeper waters makes this period especially memorable for marine encounters.
