Veterans Memorial Museum, History museum in Branson, United States.
The Veterans Memorial Museum is a history museum in Branson that displays over 2,000 wartime exhibits from major conflicts of the 20th century spread across ten exhibition halls. The collection presents artifacts, memorabilia, and personal stories from military service members across different wars.
Fred Hoppe founded this museum to preserve military artifacts, memorabilia, and personal stories from soldiers spanning World War I through Operation Desert Storm. The institution grew from a desire to honor the memory of different generations of military service members.
The museum displays a life-sized bronze sculpture called 'Storming the Beach' showing 50 soldiers, alongside a P-51 fighter plane and a Vietnam-era helicopter. These pieces help visitors grasp what soldiers experienced in different wars by bringing those moments to life.
The museum is located at 1250 West Highway 76 Country Boulevard and offers guided tours as well as a gift shop for visitors. Multiple payment options including credit cards are accepted to make your visit comfortable.
The museum walls feature 500,000 names of service members killed in action from World War II through the USS Cole bombing, displayed in chronological order. This display creates a moving moment when visitors encounter the names of people they may have known.
