Kite Beach

Kite Beach is a coastal stretch in Umm Suqeim, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with white sand and views across the Arabian Gulf. A wide promenade runs parallel to the shore and offers separate zones for runners, cyclists, and skateboarders.

The municipality of Dubai developed this coastal section in the early 2000s as an open water sports zone to attract kitesurfers from across the region. The growing popularity led to the gradual expansion of beach facilities and the promenade over two decades.

The name comes from the colorful kites that float above the water almost daily, shaping the shoreline atmosphere. Families gather here in the late afternoon for picnics, while sports groups hold organized volleyball and football matches on the sand.

Most visitors arrive in the early morning or after sunset when temperatures are milder and the wind is favorable for water sports. Parking is available near the Al Manara Mosque, and showers plus changing rooms are located along the entire shoreline.

The Burj Al Arab rises directly offshore and forms a distinct silhouette visible from every point along the shore. The windy conditions here draw kitesurfers throughout the year, even during the hottest summer months.
