Alserkal Avenue spans 500,000 square feet of converted warehouses containing art galleries, design studios, performance spaces, and creative venues in Dubai.
The area transformed from industrial warehouses into a creative hub when the first contemporary art gallery opened in 2008, leading to substantial development.
Twenty-five contemporary art galleries within one block present exhibitions, installations, and performances from regional and international artists throughout the year.
The district operates an artist residency program in three annual cycles, offering opportunities for creators from MENA-South Asia region and worldwide.
Concrete, designed by Pritzker Prize winner Rem Koolhaas, opened in 2017 as an adaptable exhibition space with movable walls and multiple configurations.
