Salsali Private Museum, Contemporary art museum in Al Quoz, United Arab Emirates
Salsali Private Museum was a contemporary art space within Al Serkal Avenue Complex that exhibited international and Middle Eastern works. The exhibition areas displayed diverse media including paintings, photographs, video, sculptures, and installations from multiple artistic directions.
The museum opened in November 2011 as Dubai's first private contemporary art venue with an initial collection of around 900 pieces. It remained operational for roughly 8 years before closing in March 2019, marking an important chapter in the city's art institution development.
The collection featured works by established artists and emerging regional creators across painting, photography, video art, sculpture, and installation. These pieces brought together international perspectives with voices from the Middle Eastern contemporary art scene.
The museum was located in Unit 14 of Al Serkal Avenue Complex within the Al Quoz arts district and could be reached by phone during operating hours. Its position in the cultural hub made it easy to combine with other galleries and art venues in the surrounding area.
The museum provided free services connecting local and international collectors, artists, and galleries while promoting dialogue. Its transparent architectural design helped make the art world more accessible to visitors.
