Safa Park, Urban park in Al Safa district, Dubai
Safa Park is a 64-hectare green space in the Al Safa district featuring three lakes and more than 16,000 different trees and plants throughout the grounds. Grass covers most of the area, providing open spaces for walking and sitting.
The Dubai government created this park in 1975 after clearing land where temporary worker settlements had stood. This transformation from residential dwellings to public green space shaped what the area became.
The monthly flea market on the first Saturday brings people together to buy, sell, and chat while enjoying the outdoors in a relaxed neighborhood setting.
The park opens daily at 8 am and closes at 10 pm most days, with extended hours until 11 pm on weekends. Walking paths, rest areas, and facilities are spread throughout, making it easy to explore at your own pace.
The Dubai Water Canal runs through the center of the park, connecting Business Bay directly to the Arabian Gulf in a way most visitors overlook. This waterway is a modern engineering feature that quietly shapes the layout of the entire space.
