Alauddin Lake 1

Alauddin Lake sits at 2,785 meters (9,136 feet) elevation in the Fann Mountains, showing crystal-clear water ringed by sheer rock walls and snow-covered summits. The surrounding slopes rise steeply from the shoreline, creating a dramatic basin that holds the water like a giant mountain fortress.

The lake formed as a glacier-carved basin during ice ages, shaping this landscape thousands of years ago. Over centuries, shepherds and travelers passed through the surrounding terrain on their way to higher mountain passes.
