Wildwood Regional Park, Regional park in Thousand Oaks, United States.
Wildwood Regional Park is a protected area spanning over 1,700 acres across the western Simi Hills. The land features an extensive network of trails winding through oak woodlands, riparian zones, chaparral, and sage scrub habitats.
The land was ancestral territory of the Chumash people for thousands of years before becoming part of a Spanish land grant in the early 1800s. The area later served as a filming location for major Hollywood productions throughout the mid-20th century.
Multiple Hollywood productions filmed at this location from 1930 to 1960, including Spartacus, Wuthering Heights, and The Grapes of Wrath.
The park has multiple entry points and parking areas accessible from towns surrounding the region including Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, and Moorpark. It's best to bring water and wear appropriate footwear, as trails vary in difficulty and sun exposure.
Paradise Falls plunges down volcanic rock in a narrow cascade, while Lizard Rock offers sweeping views across the Conejo Valley. Both destinations draw visitors seeking waterfalls and vantage points with wide-ranging panoramas.
