Gardens of the World

Gardens of the World is a botanical garden with five distinct themed sections: England, France, Italy, Japan, and a California Mission Courtyard featuring native plants. Water features and pathways connect the gardens, allowing visitors to walk between different styles and designs.

The garden was established in 2001 as a tribute to international gardening traditions around the world. It was created to present different cultures through their distinct approaches to garden design.

Each garden section displays design elements and plant varieties that reflect how different countries approach gardening. You can see the choices different cultures make about layout, water, and which plants matter most to them.

The garden is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM, and visitors should wear comfortable shoes since there are multiple pathways between the different sections. Trained guides offer educational tours throughout the day to explain the different garden styles.

At the center of the garden stands a bandshell structure that serves as a performance venue for music and cultural events. This central stage creates an unexpected gathering place in the middle of the international garden landscapes.
