Bukit Bintang City Centre, Shopping and entertainment district in central Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Bukit Bintang City Centre is a shopping and entertainment district in central Kuala Lumpur with multiple interconnected shopping centers, technology stores, and food markets. The area spans several connected streets offering a dense mix of retail and leisure options.
The district grew from the site of the former Pudu Jail, with only the original entrance gate remaining as a historical marker. The transformation of the prison grounds into a modern commercial and entertainment center shaped the development of the downtown area.
Jalan Alor food street features over one hundred food stalls serving Malaysian dishes from Chinese, Malay, and Indian traditions each evening. The street reflects the culinary diversity that visitors experience directly while walking between the stalls.
The district connects easily to public transportation through Bukit Bintang MRT station and several monorail stops. Visitors can navigate between the shopping and dining areas through multiple walkways and entry points.
An 80-story signature tower is currently under construction and will combine with a planned rooftop public park. The park will spread above the shopping complex below, creating green space within the urban commercial landscape.
