Lac de barrage d'Alicurá, Stausee in Argentinien
Embalse de Alicurá is a reservoir in Neuquén Province, Argentina, formed by a dam across a river valley. The water body stretches across a wide area surrounded by steep rocky banks and dense forest.
The reservoir was created in the second half of the 20th century when a dam was built across the river. The project was part of regional development to generate hydroelectric power in Patagonia.
The reservoir can be accessed by roads running through the province, with several access points along the shoreline. Visitors should bring warm layers since the Patagonian climate is windy and changeable.
