Edificio República, Modern office building in San Nicolás district, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Edificio República is a modern office building in the San Nicolás neighborhood with a distinctive curved triangular shape. Its design emerges from the intersection of two major avenues and features white aluminum cladding along with expansive glass surfaces.
The building was constructed between 1994 and 1996 and represented a turning point for intelligent office towers in the city. Renowned architect César Pelli shaped its design with a contemporary vision.
The structure manifests the International Style architecture principles through its geometric forms, materials, and integration with the surrounding urban environment.
The building contains 22 floors dedicated to office use and is served by nine elevators throughout. Parking is available across three basement levels for convenient access.
A public garden area sits at the base of the structure, with an elevated design that echoes a ship's deck. The landscape was crafted by architect Balmori Associates.
