Maguwo railway station, railway station in Indonesia
Maguwo railway station is a passenger station in the Sleman district, near Yogyakarta, serving local trains, commuter lines, and a direct airport express service. The building has covered waiting areas, digital schedule boards, and a small row of shops along the platform.
The station was built during the colonial era by the Dutch rail company Indische Spoorweg Maatschappij as part of a regional rail network across Java. When the nearby Adi Sucipto Airport opened later, the station gained a new role as a direct rail link to the terminal.
The station sits close to the Yogyakarta airport area and draws a steady mix of commuters, students, and travelers passing through every day. Small food and drink stalls line the platform, giving the place the feel of a neighborhood stop rather than just a transit point.
Tickets can be bought at the counter or through one of the widely used Indonesian rail apps, so it helps to check both options before arrival. The station has parking for both cars and motorbikes, and it operates from early morning to late at night.
Maguwo is one of the few stations in Indonesia with a rail link that connects directly to an airport terminal, allowing passengers to step off the train and walk straight to check-in. The route is short, and trains run on a dedicated track rather than sharing the main line.
