Mount Vsevidof

Mount Vsevidof is a stratovolcano on Umnak Island featuring a symmetrical cone shape with a base that spans several kilometers across the terrain. The structure displays the typical form of an active or recently active volcanic cone with steep slopes and a defined summit.

The last recorded eruption occurred in 1957, triggered by seismic activity that lasted for two days. This event demonstrates that the volcano remains geologically active.

The name comes from Russian and relates to the mountain's wide visibility from many places across the eastern Aleutians. People visiting or passing through the area notice how the cone shape stands out clearly against the surrounding landscape.

Access requires travel by sea or air, as the isolated location has no established road connections to nearby settlements. Visitors should prepare for changeable weather conditions and difficult terrain.
