Collier County, County in Florida, United States
Collier County extends over 2,305 square miles along Florida's southwestern coast, containing Naples, Marco Island, and the northern section of the Everglades National Park.
The county was established in 1923 when it separated from Lee County, taking its name from Barron Collier, a New York advertising executive and Florida developer.
The population of 375,752 residents represents a diverse mix, with substantial Hispanic and Latino communities making up 27 percent of the total population.
The county administration operates from East Naples, where residents access government services, public libraries, and educational facilities managed by the District School Board.
The Big Cypress National Preserve occupies the southeastern portion of the county, protecting native wildlife and offering opportunities for outdoor exploration.
