Midtown Miami, Urban neighborhood in Miami, US
Midtown Miami is an urban residential neighborhood located between North 20th Street and I-195, bounded by I-95 to the west and Biscayne Bay to the east. The area combines apartment buildings with a major shopping center, dining venues, and office spaces in a unified setting.
The neighborhood evolved from a former Florida East Coast Railway yard into a modern residential and commercial area, with construction of the Midtown Miami development beginning in 2005. This transformation turned abandoned industrial land into an active urban space with new infrastructure.
The area contains numerous art galleries, design showrooms, and outdoor exhibition spaces that host events during Miami's Art Basel week.
The area features a major shopping center with national stores and restaurants connected to multiple public transportation options. Visitors can navigate easily by car or by buses that serve the location regularly.
The National YoungArts Foundation occupies former Bacardi buildings, converting industrial architecture into spaces for artistic development. This adaptive reuse preserves the factory structures while giving them new vitality and cultural purpose.
