Peters Park, Urban park in Downtown Atlanta, United States

Peters Park is a green corridor along the Atlanta Beltline in downtown Atlanta that connects multiple neighborhoods. Walking and biking trails run through the space, offering routes for recreation and local transportation.

The land was developed in the 1880s by Richard Peters, a railroad investor, and Hannibal Kimball as a planned garden suburb. Although that original vision never fully took shape, the park today carries their names and legacy.

The park sits along the Atlanta Beltline corridor, where art shows and live performances happen regularly throughout the year. These public events shape how people in the neighborhood use and experience the space.

The park is easily walkable from downtown and has multiple entry points to the Beltline trail from various streets. The pathways are flat and accessible for walkers, joggers, and cyclists with good visibility and lighting.

The original plan would have created a development much larger than what exists today, spanning a sprawling residential and commercial area. When that vision failed to materialize, the land eventually became home to Georgia Tech instead.
