Speed – The Ride, Steel roller coaster in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Speed - The Ride was a steel hypercoaster that operated at the Nascar Café location in Las Vegas, Nevada. The track featured a high-speed launch, vertical elements, and a rollback section that sent riders up and back down at rapid speeds.
The ride opened in April 2000 at the Nascar Café in Las Vegas and operated until the venue closed. It was then relocated to another location, becoming part of a different attraction outside of Nevada.
Thrill seekers gathered at the roller coaster to test their courage against its vertical angles and intense G-forces reaching three point five during rides.
Each train cycle moved groups of riders through the course quickly, making it possible to experience multiple rides during a visit. Visitors should plan for standard safety briefings and allow time to secure loose items before boarding.
The ride used electromagnetic launch technology to propel riders with extreme acceleration through its course. This system allowed for a different type of thrill compared to traditional chain-lift coasters.
