The Livradois-Forez Regional Natural Park spans 300,000 hectares of mountainous landscapes, deep forests, and valleys between Clermont-Ferrand and Vichy.

The park received official designation in 1986 following initiatives by local representatives, establishing protection for its natural and cultural heritage.

Local craftsmen maintain traditional industries, with Thiers serving as a center for cutlery production while other areas focus on textile and leather manufacturing.

The park provides marked trails for hiking and cycling, with elevation ranging from 259 meters at Ris to 1,631 meters at Pierre-sur-Haute in Job.

The mixed syndicate manages light pollution regulations to protect nocturnal wildlife, making the park a reference for environmental conservation practices.
