Lee's Ferry and Lonely Dell Ranch, Historic river crossing and pioneer ranch in Marble Canyon, Arizona

Lee's Ferry and Lonely Dell Ranch encompasses fertile bottomlands along the Colorado River, featuring historic buildings, orchards, and irrigation systems from pioneer times.

John D. Lee established the ferry service in 1873, creating a vital transportation route that connected Utah and Arizona territories until the Navajo Bridge opened in 1928.

The district preserves buildings from Mormon pioneer families, including Lee's Ferry Fort from 1874, which served as both residence and trading post for early settlers.

Visitors can explore the ranch buildings, pick seasonal fruit from the orchard with a limit of 5 gallons per person, and take guided hikes on improved dirt roads.

The irrigation system, developed in 1872 through earthen dams, continues operating today with modifications that draw water directly from the Colorado River.
