LOHAS Park, Private housing estate in Tseung Kwan O, Hong Kong.
LOHAS Park is a private housing estate in Tseung Kwan O, Hong Kong, made up of a series of tower blocks lining the eastern coast of the district. The estate covers more than 13 phases with a total of 76 towers, housing tens of thousands of residents and connected by a shopping mall and public areas.
The first phase received its occupation permit in December 2008, marking the start of the largest private housing project in Hong Kong. Over the following years, the estate grew steadily, with each new phase adding more residential towers and community facilities.
The name comes from an abbreviation for Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability, reflecting the planning ideas behind this estate. Families walk between schools, shops and playgrounds on paths that connect the tower blocks, making everyday life in this part of Tseung Kwan O car-free and pedestrian-focused.
Visitors can reach the estate using the dedicated LOHAS Park MTR station, which connects directly to the residential area. A large shopping mall with stores and services sits centrally and can be reached on foot from most tower blocks within a few minutes.
A 400-meter (roughly 1,300 feet) waterfront promenade runs along the coastline, offering views over the water and surrounding hills. The clubhouses in several phases of the estate contain swimming pools, bowling alleys and small cinema halls reserved exclusively for residents.
