Tung Chung Municipal Services Building, Municipal services building in Tung Chung, Hong Kong.
The Tung Chung Municipal Services Building is a public services building on Man Tung Road in Tung Chung, Hong Kong. It houses government offices, a public library, and an indoor sports complex for residents of the area.
The building opened in the early 2000s as Tung Chung was expanding rapidly following the development of Chek Lap Kok airport nearby. It was part of a wider effort to provide public services to the growing number of residents settling in the new town.
The facility houses the Tung Chung Public Library, serving as a community gathering space with dedicated sections for adults and children. The library functions as a social hub where residents access reading materials, digital resources, and participate in local programs throughout the year.
The building is a short walk from Tung Chung MTR station, making it easy to reach without a car. Since the library, sports facilities, and government offices are on different floors, it is worth checking which floor you need before you arrive.
Unlike most similar buildings across Hong Kong, this one does not include a wet market or cooked food centre. This makes it one of the few municipal buildings in the city focused entirely on sports, library, and administrative services without any market component.
