Scenic Hill

Scenic Hill is a mountain on Chek Lap Kok Island topped with a Chinese pavilion at its summit. The site provides views across the airport runways and surrounding airfield operations below.

The mountain emerged as the highest point after surrounding peaks were leveled during the airport's construction in the 1990s. This reshaping of the landscape made it stand out distinctly on the island.

The summit serves as a meeting point for aviation photographers who document aircraft movements while enjoying traditional Chinese architectural elements.

The hiking trail to the summit is accessible near the Ngong Ping 360 cable car station and takes about 30 to 45 minutes. The path is clearly marked and the climb is moderate, so sturdy footwear is recommended.

Beneath the mountain runs the Scenic Hill Tunnel system, connecting different sections of the island through underground passages. These tunnels are part of the infrastructure that links the airport with other areas of the island.
