Absheron District

Absheron District is an administrative area on Azerbaijan's eastern coast, blending settled communities with open countryside near the Caspian Sea. The land here is mostly flat, crossed by roads linking local towns and surrounding urban centers.

The district was established in 1963 to develop industry and farming in the Baku region. This administrative reorganization reflected Soviet efforts to expand the area's economic activity.

The district contains numerous historical monuments from the 8th to 19th centuries, including the Abdurrahman mosque in Goradil village and the Albattin mosque in Fatmai.

The area is easy to explore thanks to its network of roads and good connections to nearby cities like Baku. You can visit several villages and settlements that show what rural life looks like in this region.

The district contains mud volcanoes and salt lakes, unusual geological features found in few places. These natural phenomena make the landscape here geographically distinct and worth exploring for curious visitors.
