Jaflong

Jaflong is a tourist destination at the Bangladesh-India border where the Piain River flows through a valley ringed by mountains and tea plantations. The river continuously carries stones from the neighboring hills, giving the water a distinctive dark color.

Daily, workers wade into the river to collect stones by hand and carry baskets to the shore. This ancient practice offers visitors a rare glimpse of how raw materials have been gathered from this river for centuries.
