Dongpo Academy, Educational academy in Zhonghe, China
The Dongpo Academy spans several traditional buildings featuring Chinese architectural elements near the town of Zhonghe, 40 kilometers from Danzhou city.
Founded in 1098 during the Song Dynasty, the academy served as residence and lecture hall for the exiled poet Su Dongpo through its main building, Zaijiutang.
The academy maintains collections of works by Su Dongpo and other Chinese authors, contributing to the preservation of classical Chinese literature and scholarship.
Visitors can reach the academy by taking a bus from Danzhou city to Zhonghe town, with regular services operating throughout the day.
The Zaijiutang building, which translates to Hall of Wine, remains the oldest structure within the academy complex dating back to the 11th century.
