Haikou People's Park

Haikou People's Park is a large central urban space featuring an elevated plateau that rises above the surrounding terrain, creating distinct levels throughout the grounds. Founded in 1954, this park began as a green space for the developing city. Major renovations in the late 2000s brought new pathways and modern recreational facilities that transformed and expanded the original site.

Residents gather each morning under the trees to practice tai chi, kung fu, and other traditional exercises that are central to daily routines here. These activities show how this space functions as a gathering place where people connect through movement and shared customs.

The space includes several facilities such as ping pong tables, exercise equipment, public restrooms, and a convenience store for refreshments. Visitors can move freely throughout the site and explore the different levels connected by accessible pathways.
